@_ReElise #IndieGame @Kickstarter Project Blends #Anime, #HipHop, #Christianity & Hope – SUPER DOPE!

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you may have caught some of the buzz about one of the most ambitious Kickstarter indie game projects this year: ReElise (pronounced “release”). This game is nothing short of SUPER DOPE. But don’t take our word for it.. Peep our gameplay video and YouTube exclusive SNEAK PEEK:
This game is high-concept yet super fun to play. It combines…
- Moving hip-hop beats and original OST
- Old-school/retro turn-based JRPG game mechanics
- Deep combat system and phat loot
- Emotional story with tons of feels
- Dynamic characters that aren’t made out of cardboard
- Christian themes and practical life advice, hope, and inspiration
On the latter note, some folks may be turned off by the Christian aspect. The knee-jerk reaction may be that it’s going to be preachy or that a hidden agenda will take priority over good gameplay. None of those things are true.
If you worry about religious themes, most of anime and video games won’t even exist! Just look at Neon Genesis Evangelion, arguably one of the greatest anime series of all time. It’s been redone, revisited, and talked about for over a decade yet the entire mythos is rooted in Christian themes. Most are oblivious to this, even with the out-right references to angels and resurrection, yet the story still has a massive impact.
That’s exactly the sort of legacy Justin Fox wishes to create with ReElise. If we help him succeed, he’ll be the first Christian-developed video game that doesn’t hide the fact that there are Christian themes. This is crazy considering that games like Citizens Of Earth and Five Nights At Freddy’s are developed by Christians yet you’d never know it. Justin has made bold decisions and is truly making a game that he himself wants to play. If you ask us, these are the sorts of indie projects we need to support wholeheartedly.
The ReElise story revolves around a girl named Elise and her struggles with inner demons. For over 7 years she was the victim of human trafficking and now she is on a war path. This powerful premise is but one aspect of what makes this game so compelling.
ReElise is positioned to discuss the truths and topics that others are too scared to tap into. We not only have a strong female protagonist but also a minority game developer. In an industry where diversity and innovation are often swept under the rug for the sake of pandering and profit, this is a breath of fresh air. Let’s rally to support this, friends!
