Consider this the calendar for the community, by the community. If you know of any events coming up, drop me a line at email@example.com and I’ll be more than happy to add your local or online-based events. The great thing about the new YGOO2 is that it really makes it easier for players to set up their own mini-tournaments so you don’t have to wait for the official Konami Yu-Gi-Oh! Online events to get your fix. Here are some of the events coming up:
- January 2007: YGOO Duel Evolution Goes Live!!!
- February 15th, 2007: NEW E-Hero Duel Pass Launched
- March 3rd, 2007: Duelist Trial
- March 20th, 2007: Yu-Gi-Oh! Online Championship Tournament
- April 2007: Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship 2007 (Konami)
- April 2007: 3 New LIMITED EDITION Cards Launched
A few things to note about the official Yu-Gi-Oh! Online site: times are often listed in JST and PST so be wary of that as it has often thrown American (Canadians, Brazilians, Mexicans, and all others included) duelists WAY off. They do not always update their event calendar uniformly but you can safely assume that each month will have the same schedule pretty much. It’s usually the first weekend of any calendar month that kicks off events for the next 4 weeks or so, on and off. Typically, events last two or three consecutive days. It’s a small window of opportunity so check our site and Konami’s site for the official word on everything Yu-Gi-Oh!
UK, February 28, 2007 – Konami has revealed that Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship 2007 on Nintendo DS is set to feature a worldwide online card trading and battling arena in – a first for the series.
As the official game of the World Championship Tournament, this latest Yu-Gi-Oh! entry offers a faithful recreation of the popular card trading past-time, including 1,600 different cards. However, by far the most exciting new feature is the opportunity to take your carefully-constructed deck online, challenge players across the globe or swap entire decks. What’s more, World Championship is one of the few DS games to offer voice chat, meaning you make someone cry with a verbal lashing if their level 20 Dragon Slayer gets killed or something.
Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship 2007 launches in April 2007 and comes with three limited-edition cards for use in the real-life game. ZOMG – I am so excited that I almost fell out of my seat. Wi-Fi FTW!!!

Following the successful launch of its Yu-Gi-Oh! Online Duel Evolution title for PC, Konami Digital Entertainment announced details of the new Duelpass for the game, which goes on sale from February 15, 2007.
The new Duelpass E-Hero Evolution Deck will enable players to compete with rival ‘Yu-Gi-Oh!’ fans online, and bolster their decks with new traps, monsters and spells. With it’s own built-in Structure Deck, this can easily be considered one of the most complete Yu-Gi-Oh! Online Duelpasses released to date. This addition alone adds to the diversity seen now in online strategies, deck builds, and trickery.
One Duelpass entitles the user to 30 Duelpoints – in effect 30 online games (or 10 3-round matches). The Duelpass has a unique code which is entered within the game, and submitting an E-Hero Evolution Deck password for the first time will reward the players with a whole deck of 46 cards featuring characters and spells from the latest ‘Yu-Gi-Oh!’ E-Hero Evolution Deck. Subsequent use of a Duelpass will provide players with new individual bonus cards. This last innovation shows that Konami is really thinking outside the box and making the Duelpass investment more worthwhile than ever while not overshadowing the value of USB key alternatives.
Yu-Gi-Oh! Online Duel Revolution went live in January, and replaces the previous Yu-Gi-Oh! Online service. Key additions include the ability for players to use their own avatar when dueling and interacting with other users; a new Deck Editor; and over 650 new cards. For more on the features, I highly recommend the super-awesome YGOO2 article on DuelPassOnline’s blog! *wink-wink*
PLEASE NOTE: Original post from our partner edited in order to shamelessly plug the most awesome Duel Pass ever: the E-Hero Evolution Deck. Steve from Yu-Gi-Oh! World is a buddy of mine so I am sure he won’t mind the backlinks and content syndication. Hmmm… We should probably get the RSS stuff working…..
